Sometimes, I just don’t want to read
Like a lot of people, the list of blogs in my feed reader is a mile long. I keep telling myself that I should clean up the feeds and shorten the list...but I just can't bring myself to do it. These are all blogs that I love and belong to people I adore - I wouldn't have added them to my reader, otherwise.
But there are some blogs that, regardless of the fact that I love the blog or the author, I just can't bring myself to read and constantly find myself just clicking on the "mark as read" button and moving on.
I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
For example...
I hate political posts. Whether I agree with them or not, I hate reading about politics on blogs. Of course, this is a bad time of year for not wanting to read about politics...even non-political bloggers will have the occasional political post. So, I skip the post and wait patiently for them to post about something else.
I also dislike reading about illness. I love Lisa to death, but I've found myself reading less and less of her blog. With every other post I keep thinking, "nothing I say can make things better for her, so I just won't say anything at all"...so I don't read, and I don't comment, and I feel like shit for it.
I don't get craft blogs. KG has a great craft blog, and I look at the cards she makes and think, "those are freaking adorable!" But more often than not, I skip right over the post and never comment on it because I don't feel it's my place to do so since I'm not a crafty person.
I have no idea where this post was headed originally. I lost my train of thought...which is another reason some blogs go ignored by me. Sometimes I just get distracted. Which is why I frequent some blogs more than others since their blogs are distractions in and of themselves.
So, to all my blogging friends: I'm sorry I don't read and comment more...but it all makes perfect sense in my own messed up head.
