Professional? Say what?

What do you call a professional web designer/developer1 who doesn't really do his own coding2 with ridiculously overpriced rates because the price of outsourcing3 is built into them?

I don't know, but I seem to be spending a lot of time fixing the hideous mess of code produced by said professional web designer/developer.

Seriously...

I spent 2 months cleaning up a jumbled eyesore of a gazillion unnecessary lines of code4 because someone didn't think (or didn't know how to) use header/footer includes and still make sure things like page titles and sidebars change for each section.

I spent two months sorting through code that wasn't even consistent from page to page...when it's supposed to use the same frigging code.

I spent two months fixing unclosed and improperly coded tags in an xhtml transitional document.

I spent two months doing this FOR FREE because I couldn't do the job I was actually hired to do until I fixed the fucking mess I never bothered to check because I had assumed said professional web designer/developer was...well...a professional.

Note to self: Before accepting a project, or even quoting one, ask to see the original files first...if client says no, say no to the client.

PS: On an unrelated note, Joelle switched her blog from EE to WP.  I'm sick enough of waiting for EE2 I'd like to switch this blog...but I can't because that means I'd have to rewrite my download module, and I definitely don't want to have to do that.

1 Yes, it's a dual title...
2 I'm not even 100% the graphic design is by the same person, either.
3 Did I forget to mention, this is never disclosed?
4 In +80 individual freaking files!
